AccuRev SCM Named Dr. Dobb's Jolt Award Finalist in Software Change and Configuration Management Category
Lexington, MA, February 23, 2007 – AccuRev Inc. has again been selected as a finalist for Dr. Dobb’s 17th Annual Jolt Product Excellence Awards in the Software Change and Configuration Management category. This is the third time that AccuRev has been nominated for a Jolt award, having won the Jolt Product Excellence Award and Jolt Productivity Award previously.
AccuRev continues to Jolt the industry with its breakthroughs in software configuration management (SCM). SCM tools are under pressure to advance and innovate to support today’s development challenges, whether it be more prominent globally distributed and outsourced development projects, teams managing multiple releases in parallel, or the adoption of new Agile methodologies (Scrum, Extreme Programming, Lean Software Development, Hyper). AccuRev is unique in going beyond the framework of traditional development practices and having adapted to meet the challenges of today’s increasingly agile and parallel software development.
“The changes in the software development field occur rapidly and what’s jolting one year may not be jolting the next,” commented Dr. Dobb’s Awards and Events Manager Rosalyn Lum. “Competition to stay ahead is fierce and competition fosters innovation. This year’s Jolt Award finalists represent those companies that keep innovation alive.”
Lorne Cooper, CEO, AccuRev Inc. added, “While the pressure on development organizations to improve quality, productivity and meet their business requirements has intensified, the challenge of managing with increasingly distributed and outsourced development teams has also increased the complexity. Many organizations are beginning to adopt more Agile-based methodologies that will eventually require better defined and more automated processes. AccuRev with AccuWorkflow™ allows teams to establish and automate their desired workflow and release process, and manage it transparently from one location across the entire software development infrastructure.”
