History Browser
The History Browser shows the history of elements in a selected stream, or the history of a selected element.
You can access the History Browser via the following methods:
Right-click an element in the File Browser's Details pane, and choose the History command to view the history of that element.
Choose Actions > History from the File Browser's Folders pane.
Choose Actions > Show Active Transactions from the File Browser's Folders pane. This command will show only the transactions that contain active elements. (Note that the details shown in the Versions pane will show all elements for the transaction, not just the active elements.)
The History Browser opens in a new tab. Within the History Browser, you can select and inspect AccuRev transactions that make up the history of the selected stream or element.
The History browser is divided into three panes (Summary, Comment, and Versions), as shown above.
This pane lists the AccuRev transactions involving that file, one per line. For each transaction, this pane shows:
the timestamp for the transaction
the AccuRev action type (promote, keep, etc.)
the user name for the user executing the transaction
the transaction number (#)
the element's resulting version in AccuRev (shown for workspace transactions only)
the comment supplied with that transaction
The History Browser toolbar on the Summary pane contains controls that let you navigate among transactions:
The drop-down list ( ) lets you select the maximum number of transactions to view at a time. Possible values are 10, 20, 50, 100 and Everything.
If the element's history contains more transactions than the maximum set in the drop-down list, the paging buttons are enabled. These controls allow you to navigate to the first group (
), previous group (
), and next group (
) of transactions.
In addition, the Diff Against Other context menu command is available when the history of an element is showing. This command is used to compare the version of the file to versions from other transactions.
When you select a transaction in the Summary pane, this pane shows the comment string applied to that transaction. It can be resized to display long comments conveniently.
When you select a transaction in the Summary pane, this pane shows all the elements and versions involved in the selected transaction. You can click any column header to sort by that column, or to invert the sort order.
Right-click an element in the Versions pane and choose Diff. Prev. Trans. to compare this version against its immediate predecessor in the Diff Tool.
