Company Background
AccuRev was originally founded in 1998 by Damon Poole and associates to provide consulting services to development organizations, particularly those using ClearCase (now part of the IBM Rational suite) who required better process support. AccuRev began shipping commercial software products in 2002 to address the limitations of branch and label software change and configuration management (SCCM) tools with an innovative stream-based architecture and process-centric SCCM product that shares the company name.Early customers included American Airlines, DISA, BAE Systems, Nortel Networks, Sun Microsystems, Siemens, Sony, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and Polycom.
In 2005, AccuRev secured its first infusion of outside venture capital from Commonwealth Capital Ventures and Velocity Ventures. This allowed the company to attract and retain leading industry talent for its management team and to make dramatic improvements to the AccuRev product line. Customer growth accelerated and customer satisfaction increased dramatically. AccuRev began to be widely recognized by technology industry analysts such as Gartner and Forrester Research as an important and reliable supplier to the software development process needs of large corporate and government customers. During this time, AccuRev technology has been lauded by industry analysts and press, and has received numerous third-party industry awards.
