Lorne Cooper
AccuRev President & ChairmanBefore joining AccuRev as President, Lorne was President of PeerDirect, a developer of embedded database synchronization technology to software companies worldwide. Before PeerDirect, Lorne was President of NuSphere Corporation, a start-up subsidiary of Progress Software Corporation that delivers an Internet application platform based on open source components, providing an integrated foundation that allows companies to deploy reliable, cost-effective, enterprise-class applications.
Prior to joining NuSphere, he founded Sente, Inc., a software company that provided high-end software to designers of integrated circuits, particularly Intel, Motorola, Toshiba, NEC, Nortel and Ericsson. As President and CEO, Lorne ran Sente successfully for six years, culminating in the sale of the company. Before founding Sente, he was with Viewlogic Systems for nine years, where he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Product Marketing, and was part of the management team that brought the company to IPO and revenues of over $100 million.
Mr. Cooper has been a director on the boards of various software companies. Mr. Cooper holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Richard J. Davis
For more than 25 years Mr. Davis has played a leadership role in technology growth and innovation at several highly successful companies, including Rand McNally & Company where he was President and CEO when that 147 year-old American icon re-launched its web site, www.randmcnally.com, to provide travel directions and products.
Mr. Davis was named Chairman, President and CEO of Ardence in October 2001, from Rand McNally where he had also expanded the company's software and Internet-based offerings to capitalize on new market opportunities. Previously Mr. Davis was President and CEO of iMarket Inc., a provider of business-to-business sales and marketing data and analysis tools that was acquired by Dun & Bradstreet.
As President and CEO of Nabnasset, a computer telephony integration software provider, Mr. Davis orchestrated the company's acquisition by Quintus Corporation. Additionally, he served as Executive Vice President of Customer Operations/Sales for Applix Inc., a software provider that grew from $4 million to $51 million in sales during Mr. Davis' eight-year tenure.
Will Herman
Mr. Herman was most recently CEO of Innoveda, a supplier of electronic design automation software tools and services that was created through the merger of Summit Design and Viewlogic Systems. Herman was co-founder of Viewlogic and served as the company's COO, president and CEO. Herman also served as president and CEO of Silerity and president of Scopus Technology. Prior to founding Viewlogic, Mr. Herman held management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and was involved in two other software startup operations, Dataware Logic, which he founded, and Health Care Computer Systems. He currently is a director of two other private companies; Bionaut, a biotechnology company and, Carbon Design, a software company. Mr. Herman received his BS in Computer Science from Temple University.
R. Stephen McCormack
General Partner, Commonwealth Capital VenturesSteve McCormack is a co-founder of Commonwealth Capital Ventures. Throughout his career, McCormack has established a record of successful investments in early stage technology and healthcare opportunities. Before founding Commonwealth Capital, McCormack was a Senior Vice President with 3i Corporation. Prior to joining 3i, McCormack was a Partner with Merrill Lynch Venture Capital. McCormack was also previously employed with MTDC as well as with the Bank of New York and Interactive Data Corporation. A graduate of Dartmouth College in Psychology, McCormack received his M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Jeffrey Vogel
Managing Director, VelocityJeffrey Vogel has over 15 years experience in operating and financing high tech software companies. Prior to co-founding Velocity in 2000, Jeff was Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Research and Development for eBusiness Technologies, a leader in XML Content Management Systems. In 1989, Jeff co-founded Electronic Book Technologies (EBT), a pioneer in SGML and XML information systems. At EBT Jeff led R&D until 1996 when he helped sell the company to Inso, a publicly traded company. From 1996 to 1998, Jeff was Vice President of Engineering at Inso's Electronic Publishing Solutions business unit and was also very active in the company's corporate development activities where he helped acquire and integrate upwards of a half dozen acquisitions.
Jeff represents or has represented Velocity as a board member or board observer in a number of portfolio companies, including BEZ, WebDialogs, Nexaweb, Digital LightCircuits, and Collego.
Jeff currently is a Director of the Slater Center for Interactive Technology as well as Vice President and Executive Board member of the JCC of Rhode Island. He holds an A.B. in Computer Science and Economics from Brown University and is married with one daughter.
Damon Poole
AccuRev Founder & CTODamon Poole founded AccuRev in 1998, and is the architect of AccuRev and AccuWork. He is the technical visionary for AccuRev product strategy and direction. He is an industry expert on Software Configuration Management (SCM), and is regularly asked to speak at industry conferences and seminars.
Mr. Poole has developed SCM best practices over his fifteen years managing small and large development projects at companies such as Fidelity Investments, where he tested the limits of what can be built on top of Rational's ClearCase; and the Open Software Foundation, where he led the SCM tools development effort for the massive multi-vendor integration projects.
Damon is also the founder of CM Today, The First Daily SCM News Site, which was acquired by CM Crossroads in 2003. Prior to founding AccuRev, Damon was an SCM Consultant, serving clients including IBM, Compaq, and FTP Software. Damon is the author of two pending SCM patents, and is also the author of "The TimeSafe Property - A Formal Statement of Immutability in CM." Damon earned his BS in Computer Science at the University of Vermont in 1987.
