For everyone in New England AccuRev is hosting a casual encore event on Agile Development. We ran this event in June and it was so popular that we've decided to repeat it! Join Damon Poole, author of the blog "Agile Development Thoughts", for an evening of Agile discussions topped off with complimentary pizza and beer.

You may have been thinking that Agile is the new flavor of the week in SDLC methodologies. While it’s true that there’s no component of Agile that’s new, Agile is a unique combination of interlocking principles and practices that form the critical mass to form something that is new. Plus, it’s been proven to deliver significant business benefits.

Many teams inadvertently implement Agile as a series of mini-waterfalls. Trying to do a waterfall release every two weeks is extremely painful and delivers very little value. It is no wonder that those teams either struggle or revert to traditional development.

There are three components in your development stack: people, process, and tools. For a successful Agile transition, all three will need to participate.  We will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to Agile: how and why it works
  • Fourteen “critical mass” Agile practices
  • The benefits of Agile for both the business and the individual
  • Agile pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • How AccuRev and other complimentary tools can accelerate your Agile initiative
  • AccuRev product demonstration

There will be a Q&A session at the end.
