Windows Explorer integrationThe Windows Explorer Plug-in for AccuRev make it easy to integrate every knowledge worker into the development process.  With this integration, AccuRev users can manage their work within AccuRev, and conform to the agreed-upon development processes, by simply right-clicking in Microsoft Windows Explorer.  

The Advantages

Product managers, technical writers and other knowledge workers may now link their assets, such as product documentation, marketing collateral, meeting notes, spreadsheets and presentations, into the overall release.  Additionally, AccuRev can be used by these knowledge workers to set up new intradepartmental processes. 

The Windows Explorer Plug-in for AccuRev also simplifies organizational compliance with FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other company mandates for process controls and full audit-ability.

Windows Explorer Plug-in for AccuRev Features

  • Color-coded “icon decorations” are added to Windows Explorer icons, indicating the status of each item under AccuRev version control. Icon decorations appear in all of Windows Explorer’s display modes — Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, and Details. Icon decorations also appear in the Search Results view.
  • AccuRev commands available within Windows Explorer include: Login, Logout, Create Workspace, Add, Keep, Promote, Revert, Edit, Open, Open With, and Update.
  • A Create Workspace Wizard leads users through the creation of a new AccuRev workspace and to specify a location for the workspace.
  • Exclusive Locking default creates a workspace that uses AccuRev’s exclusive file locking feature. This guarantees that two or more users can’t revise the same document at the same time.
